Information below is provided by Jim Twigg- Overland Park Environmental Programs Coordinator:

The City of Overland Park and the Environmental Advisory Council will sponsor the 2013 Stream Clean Day. This event helps restore the natural beauty of Overland Park streams by removing trash and debris. We are looking for individuals and groups to help.

Doing What?

A substantial amount of trash and debris ends up in our streams, either from blowing or through the storm drainage system. This litter ends up on the banks and in brush along the streams. Volunteers will pick up the debris, bag them and pile the bags so that our Parks & Forestry crews can pick up and properly dispose of the collected trash.

Who Can Help?

We are looking for groups such as scouts, neighborhoods and outdoor clubs, as well as individuals, to donate several hours to help keep Overland Park beautiful.
